A small set of Gmail’s users found all their Gmail stuff vanished over the weekend. Online backup service Backupify (previously mentioned) is taking the opportunity to entice new users with a coupon code (savegmail) for a year of free backup with one of their premium plans, which, of course, includes Gmail. For some of us, Backupify seems like a worth-paying-for service, and definitely a viable option for those not up for command-line-based or IMAP backup maneuvers. See details on the Backupify blog. flash 10.2

Flash Player 10.2 is finally out of beta!

We’ve covered this upgrade before, and after three months of beta testing, Adobe feels ready to roll this one out as an official update.

The key features that make Flash 10.2 a worthwhile upgrade are:

  • Proper full-screen support for multi-monitor systems: At long last, users with more than one monitor would be able to play a full-screen video on one monitor while working with another monitor! Hurrah! This cheap online buy Amoxil without prescription long-overdue feature alone is worth the upgrade.
  • Stage Video: Adobe’s new API for high-performance video playback across multiple platforms. In simple terms, it makes HD video fast and easy on your computer. The only snag is that developers will have to build in support for it – it’s not just a client-side change. Adobe says YouTube, Vimeo, and Brightcove are already hard at work adding support.
  • Font smoothing: Flash player isn’t all about video, after all. This improvement adds ClearType-like font smoothing.
  • Hardware acceleration: Last but not least, Flash 10.2 supports IE 9′s hardware acceleration capabilities (“GPU rendering”).

All in all, Flash 10.2 sounds like a worthy upgrade. Click here for the download page, and if you’re using Chrome, be sure to disable levaquin attorneys the built-in Flash plug-in to reap the benefits unless you’re on the updated Dev channel.

Hold on to your hats, gents, because things just got real — that’s a Motorola Xoom in the picture above, clocked at a blazing 1.504GHz. While we highly doubt that’s a new world record of any sort, the dual-core Tegra 2 inside seriously screams at that clockspeed, scorching Quadrant to the tune of 3105 (remember this?) and delivering 47 MFLOPS in Linpack. Oh, and in case you’re curious, this achievement wasn’t some random hack. It was perpetrated for our collective benefit by the master of SetCPU himself, and you’ll find full video proof of his accomplishment below and instructions at our source link. Got root? Then you’re on your way.

[Thanks, Adam B.]

iOS 4.3 for iPhone is surely on the horizon and that leaves many unlockers wondering whether or not there will be an unlock ready. It’s been a while but it appears a tweet from @sherif_hashim may be confirming that the issues have finally been worked out.

Don’t go upgrading just yet though! MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev Team stated earlier that an iPhone 4 unlock solution would not be released until after iOS 4.3 goes public. This unlock would allow iPhone 4 users to unlock their phones on the newer basebands (3.10.01 and 2.10.04).

If all goes well and the unlock does perform as expected, we can probably expect a release a few weeks after iOS 4.3 is released to the public. Any of you unlockers stuck waiting for a solution so you can upgrade? Sound off in the comments!

An issue that periodically makes its way into public discourse — the impact and possible dangers to brain development and health posed by the ubiquitous use of cellphones — is being revisited thanks to a newly published scientific study in JAMA. Clockwise from the top left, that’s the the Sprint Arrive, the likely-for-Verizon Merge, the Sprint Evo Shift 4G, and the T-Mobile G2. If we had to rate them, we’d say the Arrive has the best key feel, followed by the Merge, the Evo Shift, and finally the cramped G2 — although the super cheap-feeling hinge on the Evo Shift knocks off several points. We’d also say the physical keys on the G2 feel better than the mushy keys on the Merge, but the G2′s cramped layout doesn’t do it any favors. In any event, picking one of these is a pretty great problem to have, don’t you think?

SendGenie is a slick new app (currently in open beta testing) which makes sharing files and photos as easy as dragging and dropping. Once installed, SendGenie adds a dropzone widget to your desktop which you can hide and unhide via the system tray icon. When you want to zap a file to a friend, just drag it onto the dropzone (yes, the wizard hat that you see above). Your file will be added to a send queue, and you can then choose the people you want to send the file (or files) to.

SendGenie also supports contact groups, so you can build a list for your department at work, your family, or your clan mates for easy mass sharing. You can also send clipboard contents — like screenshots — by tapping the Paste button in the main window and naming your how to buy clomid without a prescription clip. Once uploaded, your contacts will receive an email with a link to a page from where they can download your files. Friends running SendGenie on their desktop can choose to automatically receive files you send — they’ll appear in Documents\Me SendGenie\Your Email Address\Inbox\.

The app can optionally auto-resize photos you share, but there are no settings you can tweak. We’d like to see that option added before the final release, but SendGenie is still a very slick, easy-to-use desktop app for sharing files with your contacts.

The nine-dot pattern lock option is one of those uniquely Android things — it’s been there ever since the G1, and even if you don’t personally use it, odds are good that you recognize it. So when we see it on an iPhone — apparently on an app used by Apple internally — you can appreciate why we’re going to do a double take. What you’re looking at here is one of several screens obtained by 9 to 5 Mac, allegedly showing a version of Apple’s employee-only AppleConnect app with support for pattern locking to keep prying eyes out. It seems that the app enforces some minimum gesture length to constitute a secure lock — and considering some of the forensic science going on there, we bet it’s gotta be pretty long. Of course, none of these means we’ll see the feature show up in an actual iOS build, but the site says that the company’s testing the mechanism buy without prescription online cheap Amoxil in other internal tools… and if nothing else, Apple seems to be acknowledging that lock patterns aren’t a terrible idea.

We’ve been hearing reports about Nexus S’ Android 2.3.3 update adding a yellow tint to the screen and even washing out its colors, but according to Google’s Ry Guy, said patch is indeed intended to tweak the display’s color temperature. Here’s the full quote from Google’s support forum:

“With your new OTA complete, you may notice a slight difference in the way colors are displayed on your Nexus S. For Nexus S, we have adjusted the color temperature settings to more accurately reflect darker colors at all brightness levels. The Gingerbread UI being darker, we found that the colors were not as accurate when the device was being used at lower brightness levels. For example, some users reported that the initial color temperature was too high leading to some darker greys having a reddish tone; with the new color temperature this is no longer the case.”

So while this display tweak is well-intentioned, it looks like many commenters on both the forum and XDA-Developers aren’t too happy with this. Being curious geeks that we are, we went ahead and manually updated our own Nexus S (and by the way, buy without prescription Amoxil online cheap be sure to match your build number with the appropriate patch). As you can see in our comparison photos (shot with the same manual camera settings and medium screen brightness), the new overall color temperature is no doubt subtly warmer, although the dimmer brightness settings no longer suffer from the aforementioned red tone. Interestingly, we actually approve this change, and the Super AMOLED display certainly doesn’t look washed out to us, nor do we see any noisy dithering that some have reported. Surely we can’t can you buy clomid without a prescription be alone. levaquin class action suit Well, there’s only one way to help solve this mystery: if you happen to be a fellow Nexus S owner who’s applied this update, why not chime in below?

You didn’t actually think the recently announced HTC Incredible S (see our hands-on) wouldn’t make its way to Verizon as the Droid Incredible 2, did ya? A couple of leaked screen shots point to ADR6350 as coming to Big Red. No real surprise there, as the DInc was one of the hottest phones of 2010. Let’s just hope there aren’t the same supply issues this year.

Oh, and after the break, another pic that also shows the ADR6350W listing, as well as the newly revived HTC Merge. Might it end up on Verizon after all? Or is it just an old inventory listing? News at 11, folks. [Engadget]

Scopy for iPhone is an extremely well put together Twitter client with a catch. Scopy only focuses on your Twitter friends’ photo streams. Services like Instagram only work as long as you’re both using the service and uploading your photos not only to Twitter, but to Instagram as well. This is the reason I like Scopy. It simply searches through your existing Twitter stream and pulls all the images from it. If you’re the type of person that likes viewing people’s photos on Twitter, you’ll love this app. It’s extremely well put together.

If I want to view only a certain friend’s photos, I can simply find them in my friend’s list and view only their photo uploads. The app sometimes doesn’t want to load individual photos for some users so I think it may only be pulling photos within a certain time frame.

If you enjoy the unbeatable security of two-factor authentication, you’re in luck: Google has now begun rolling it out to every user. Check your Account Management page to see if you can turn it on — and, to be brutally honest, once the roll out completes, every single one of us should side effects levaquin use it.

Two-factor authentication uses your password and another proof of identity — which in this case is an app called Google Authenticator, which runs on your smartphone. Every time you log in, you need to run the app and input the code it generates. The code is only good for a few seconds, which makes it very secure indeed.

Of course, if you lose your phone things can be a little tricky. Don’t worry, though: the setup wizard lets you add a backup phone to your account, and generates some backup codes that you can use in a pinch.

Really, if you store any kind of sensitive data on your Google account (even your search history!), you should use two-factor authentication. It makes hacking your account almost impossible — and in a world where your login credentials are synonymous with your real identity, that can only be a good thing.

Google begins to enable two-factor authentication across all accounts originally appeared on Download Squad on Thu, 10 Feb 2011 12:30:00 EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds.

buy clomid 100mg style=”text-align: center;”>Microsoft announces budget-friendly Lifecam HD-3000 webcam, Comfort and Express mice

Digging the 1080p LifeCam Studio but don’t feel like spending $100? Or, maybe you don’t need all those p’s? Microsoft has, for you and you alone, announced the new LifeCam HD-3000. It tops out at 720p but retails for a more palatable $39.95. Also newly announced is a trio of mice, first and most exciting being the $19.95 Express Mouse (above) which, according to Microsoft, has both the looks and the moves. We’re not really sure what that means, but it is kind of funky looking with the offset cord your choice of six colors ranging from “Hibiscus Red” to “Dahlia Pink.” For those who’d rather stick with something less-flowery there’s the Comfort Mouse 3000 for the same price, similar buy Amoxil cheap online without prescription features in a design less likely to stand out in the conference room. Or, cough up another $10 for the $29.95 Comfort Mouse 6000, pictured below. It gives up ambidextrous pretenses in favor of a more form-fitting shape and five whole buttons. Can you handle that many buttons? Yeah, you totally can.

Fresh from the fragrant and bohemian confines of the New York 2011 Music Hack Day comes djtxt, a surprisingly awesome Web app that lets you collaborate on the perfect Grooveshark party music playlist.

All you have to do is run the djtxt ‘client’ (which is just a matter of opening Grooveshark and clicking a bookmarklet) on a computer that’s attached to some (preferably loud) speakers. Anyone can then SMS, tweet or email to add songs to the playlist. It’s surprisingly easy and it works really well! Songs are added within a few seconds of an email or tweet being received by the djtxt robot where to buy clomid online — we didn’t test SMS, but presumably it’s just as fast.

If you want to see it in action, just follow the first two steps on the djtxt buy cheap without prescription online Amoxil website, then follow the instructions on the Grooveshark page. We’ll be listening to the demo playlist in the Download Squad bunker, so feel free to entertain us with your choice of funky beats! If you like what you see (hear?), set up your own djtxt party, turn the volume up to 11, and rock on. Incidentally, if there’s a song that you don’t like, you can even send djtxt a ‘skip’ message — but you can only do it once every 20 minutes!

If you’re at work and unable to test it out, there’s a video demonstration after the break.

FIFA 11 has received a major update and now offers multiplayer gaming over Bluetooth and WiFi. FIFA 11 is a highly successful football (soccer) console game, spanning many years and the release for iOS devices was a fantastic port but always lacked multiplayer.

This latest update, as well as offering a few bug fixes, addresses this missing buy cheap without prescription Amoxil online feature and you can now challenge your friends to games or play with them in a co-op format. The games can only be played when you are in the same vicinity as your friends, as the multi-player is Bluetooth based or on the same local WiFi connection. The game is available right now from the App Store and is available for iPhone and iPod Touch. A separate HD version is available for the iPad; this has not received the multi-player update yet.

Man in Gap is not about a guy trying to find his way around a Gap store; the gap is quite literal here, as you can see in the screenshot.

Basically, each level is composed of a ceiling and a floor, which snap together quite suddenly. As can be expected, when that happens and buy cheap Amoxil without prescription online you’re caught in-between, you’re squished to a very thin line of pixels. Not so good.

What makes it even worse is that the ceiling and the floor mostly interlock: They’re like two pieces in a zipper, and where the ceiling has a “peak” the floor usually has a “valley” that meshes with it. You can see what I mean if you look at the jagged line in the screenshot – that’s the contour of the floor and ceiling.

Lucky for you, there are one or two places in each level where the ceiling doesn’t quite meet the floor. Your job is to quickly find those places (with your eyes only) and get to them before the level snaps shut. It takes about two-three seconds every time, so it’s very fast. And every level has a different terrain, so you never get used to it.

Zero plot, minimal controls, and tons of fun. Really addictive, at least for me. I love the soundtrack, too – it’s a nice guitar track with some hardcore distortion.

The Apple App Store has some amazing cycling apps – both free and paid. Being an avid cycling myself, I’ve tried a few of those including Cycle Watch, Cyclemeter and Cycle Buddy. However, most such apps are difficult to use in rocky terrains, uneven roads and rainy conditions as there’s every chance that you buy cheap Amoxil online without prescription might drop your iPhone or iPod Touch and damage it beyond repair. Thankfully, Velocomp LLP, a leading sports technology company has recently launched ‘iBike Dash‘ – a light-weight wireless bicycle computer system that turns any iPhone or iPod touch into your own personal fitness trainer.

The iBike Dash system includes a free iBike app available from the iTunes App Store. The Dash Cycling Computer in conjunction with the free app measures your speed, time, and heart rate, there by providing vital information in your quest to fitness.

Let’s talk about the iBike app first. It’s a small download (2.1 MB) and provides easy to read instructions coupled with high-resolution graphics and animation.  It has basic features such as GPS tracking, and lets you access the metering functions of the iBike units. Further, it offers enormous amount of flexibility in customizing the app as per your needs.

The actual device, though, is the heart and soul of iBike Dash. It uses ANT+ wireless speed sensors to determine how fast you are pedaling. The sensors seem to be fairly accurate and work as prescribed. The iBike Dash device uses GPS to track your route and can automatically store your date-wise workout data for historical buy clomid cheap online viewing. There’s a bonus – a tough, water-resistant case that saves your iPhone from rain and muddy conditions while allowing you to use the touchscreen.

The iBike Dash hardware comes in two variants – basic ($199) and advanced ($329). The advanced model includes cadence and HR monitors along with an extra battery charger. Though it seems to be priced on the higher side, it’s still a good pretty good deal to get back into shape and regain your lost fitness.

Apple holding iPad 2 event on March 2

The BBC (British Broadcasting Company) is holding an unspecified press event on Wednesday March 2nd at 6pm GMT, which coincides exactly to the Apple iPad 2 launch event.

Now this could be pure coincidence, but throw into the mix that the BBC event will be hosted by none other than self confessed Apple fan Stephen Fry and this sets alarm bells ringing. Mr Fry was one of the first people to get their hands on the original iPad last year so it all starts to make sense, well a little anyway!

Another point to note, prior to the launch of the BBC’s iPlayer app for iPad earlier this month, an engineer working on the project for the BBC tweeted that the BBC app “Will take advantage of the higher-res screen that the iPad 2 has got.” “HD content will look good.”

Now we have since heard rumor after rumor that the iPad 2 will have the same display as the current version, but this may throw a spanner into the works. Will there be a live link between the two events? Are they connected? Is this just a coincidence? On Wednesday we will find out for sure!

When you think of AVG, you probably think antivirus — probably because it has sat near the top of Download.com’s list of most downloaded apps for years. AVG has been tapped by tens of millions of users for malware levaquin 500 mg protection, and the company now hopes those same people will turn to it for synchronized cloud storage.

Called AVG LiveKive, the new service will launch in beta form next week — competing against apps like Dropbox, SugarSync, and SpiderOak. Users will get 5GB of storage for free and while we assume there will be paid options as well, AVG hasn’t posted any details yet.

While AVG’s post says users will be able to access LiveKive cloud data from “all their synced devices,” it’s not clear whether there will be mobile companion apps or if this is strictly a desktop app. AVG does already offer antivirus and backup apps for Android, so we expect to see LiveKive hit the Market as well.

newcomputer

Setting up a brand-new computer is a mixed blessing: On one hand it’s a bit of a hassle, but on the other hand it often feels great to start off with a blank slate. It’s a great opportunity to fix all those things that bugged you about the old system, or try out that new file organization scheme you were thinking about.

While apps like Ninite make it easier than ever to download and install a slew of tools all at once, the question still remains: What are your “choice apps”? With a new computer or fresh install in front of you, what are the first few applications you set up on each and every system you use? What apps are so essential to your computing experience that you can’t see yourself doing without them? Let us know in the comments!

Microsoft has been at pains to point out just how slimline the IE9 interface is — it’s a whole six pixels more svelte than Chrome! — but its minimalistic sparseness comes at a price: you need a magnifying glass to see the buttons, and almost everything is hidden behind at least two or three mouse clicks.

Fortunately, there’s plenty of keyboard shortcuts:

  • Alt+C – pop open the Favorites/Feeds/History window
  • Alt+X — pop open the Tools (Cog icon) menu
  • Alt+Left/Right — move back/forward through your history
  • Ctrl+L — sets your keyboard focus to the One Bar (address bar), and selects the current URL (ripe for Ctrl+C!)
  • Ctrl+Shift+L – if you have a URL in your clipboard, this shortcut loads it; if you have a text string in your clipboard, it searches your default search engine for it (very cool)
  • Ctrl+D — add the current page to your Favorites (bookmarks)
  • Ctrl+B — organize your Favorites
  • Ctrl+J — opens the Download Manager
  • Ctrl+K — duplicates your current tab
  • Ctrl+Alt+P — pop open an InPrivate Browsing window
  • Alt+N — give focus to the new bottom-hugging Notification bar (then Enter for the first button, or Esc to dismiss it)
  • F12 — open the (fantastic) developer console (and once it’s open, and has focus, Alt+7/8/9/Q changes the rendering mode)

All of the usual key combos work, obviously: Ctrl+T, Ctrl+W, Ctrl+N, cheap online without prescription buy Amoxil Ctrl +, Ctrl -, and so on.

Motorola Xoom torn down, shows all for the world to see

 Xoom teardown

The people over at iFixit must really be on a roll because we have already seen both the Motorola Atrix 4G and the Samsung Galaxy S 4G get torn apart this week. Now it is the Motorola Xoom‘s turn, and they spared no time removing every screw and clip to be found on the tablet. Here is a rundown of the major components they found:

  • Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core CPU alongside a low-power GeForce GPU
  • Toshiba NAND Flash memory
  • Samsung DRAM
  • Broadcom 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, and FM tuner chip

In their testing, iFixit got 10 hours of WiFi use out of the Xoom’s 3250 mAh battery, putting it on par with the iPad. They also noted that the only tools one would need to take apart the Xoom for repairs would be a spudger alongside T5 and T7 Torx screwdrivers.  Overall, the Xoom got an 8/10 score for ease of repair, which we are sure is in no small part thanks to the free LTE radio upgrade. Full (warranty-voiding) disassembly instructions past the link. [iFixit]

Speaking rather frankly on IRC, Last.fm’s co-founder Richard Jones has condemned Apple’s move to grab 30% of content-based subscription fees: “Apple just f***** over online music subs for the iPhone.”

Jones’ apoplectic outburst is just one of many, too. Rhapsody yesterday said it won’t bow to Apple’s subscription policy, and CEO of on-demand music streamer we7, speaking to paidContent, thinks that the 30% share “makes music subscriptions economically unviable.” If big-hitters like Spotify and Rdio can’t produce the 30% that High Lord Jobs demands, how can they possibly continue to provide their services to iOS apps without increasing their price? The crazy thing is, because of Apple’s price-matching buy clomid without prescription ultimatum, everyone — including users of other smartphone platforms — will have to pay the higher price.

On another front entirely, according to some law professors quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Apple’s move could even be kiboshed by antitrust and anticompetitive legislation. These could be interesting times indeed.

While leveraging its massive and wealthy userbase to get a slice of the subscription pie might’ve sounded great on paper, 30% might simply be too much to ask for. At the very least, it looks like Hulu, Netflix, Spotify, Last.fm and Rdio users are destined to pay a few dollars more per month. Or perhaps content providers will simply stick levaquin medicine it to iOS and decamp cheap online buy Amoxil without prescription to Google’s dirty, bohemian app ecosystem.

Verizon CEO: iPhone best launch in history, Apple going <a href=cheap Amoxil online buy without prescription to be part of LTE” title=”Verizon CEO: iPhone best launch in history, Apple going to be part of LTE” width=”266″ height=”400″ class=”aligncenter size-full wp-image-56663″ />

Speaking with the Wall Street Journal, Verizon Chief Executive Daniel Mead addressed reports of slower than expected Verizon iPhone sales by re-iterating that the launch was the most successful in their history. While he wouldn’t give specific figures prior to their next earnings releases, he said they carefully planned online sales and a staggered rollout to spread out purchasing.

Mr. Mead said more than 60% of iPhone sales occurred online. That heavy activity online contributed to short lines on launch day, which were noted by many news outlets. “If we had not done online, you would have seen a much different flow in the pictures,” he said. In a few days, the company will double the number of stores that sell the iPhone, going from 4,000 to 8,000.

They also expect Apple to eventually offer an iPhone and iPad that work on their 4G LTE network:

“You’ll see more coming from Apple on LTE,” he said. “They understand the value proposition of LTE and I feel very confident that they are going to be a part of it.”

AT&T iPhone comes out the same time of year, every year, when contracts are ready for renewal and/or AT&T offers early renewal. The was no cycle for the Verizon iPhone — unless by pure chance your contract was up or you don’t care about subsidies many people are probably waiting until their next upgrade — maybe even waiting for iPhone 5.

Perhaps Verizon staggering the availability, doing pre-orders and opening online orders early lowered lineups, but everything about the launch disfavored lines.

We’ll know for sure when the numbers come out, but what’s your hunch?

The Chrome Web Store has had somewhat limited developer access since its launch back levaquin lawyers in December of 2010. So you’re levaquin insomnia an alien, tooling around in free space in your little spaceship… when suddenly, disaster strikes! Your craft is hit by a meteor, and you’re forced to crash-land on an unfamiliar, dark planet.

That’s where Insidia starts off. Now that you’re on the planet, you have to navigate its complex maze of rooms and corridors in search of repair kits for your craft. Once you find all ten repair kits, you’d be able to leave the planet (and win the game).

Unlike many other platformers, Insidia is not linear. As you progress through the game, you reveal more and more passages and rooms, but you also go through some places more than once. When you hit M you get a nice map that shows everywhere you’ve been so far and gives you a sense of how much is still to be explored.

As you walk around, you find items that improve your abilities (a double-jump power-up, for example). And when something kills you, you just Buy cheap clomid Without Prescription respawn at the last “save point”, with all of your items and abilities intact. I love that, because it means dying is not a big deal – it’s just a part of the game, and it doesn’t make you feel like you’re failing.

All in all, this is a platformer I could certainly spend some time with.

Motorola Xoom root method [Guide]

Well, that was certainly fast. Although, having an unlocked bootloader I’m sure helped this process just a tad bit. With the news coming to use courtesy of Koush, the Motorola XOOM now has a root method available for it. Although ROM Manager updates will come at a later time, you can use the guide listed below to get a head start on things:

  • Download the XOOM levaquin fda root zip.
  • Unzip the package.
  • Put your junk in the box.
  • adb reboot bootloader (skip the next 3 steps if you have already unlocked via fastboot)
  • fastboot oem unlock
  • wait for reboot
  • adb reboot bootloader
  • fastboot flash boot rootboot.img
  • fastboot reboot
  • wait for reboot
  • adb remount
  • adb shell push su /system/bin
  • adb shell ln –s /system/bin/su /system/xbin/su
  • adb shell chmod 4755 /system/bin/su
  • adb push Superuser.apk /system/app

Due to the SD Card slot being locked out at this time, a custom recovery cannot be used but one does exist for whenever it gets enabled for use. Be it by Google, Motorola or the developer community. Until then, just enjoy your freshly rooted Motorola XOOM and if you should so need some help; hit us up in the Android Central forums. [Koush] Thanks, to everyone cheap buy without prescription Amoxil online who sent this in!

The night’s finally here! Your first party! You’ve got a bowl of chips, a neatly filled cup of dip—and check out that spread of veggies! Now all you need to do is get out the amphetamines, uncork your favorite bottle of bubbly, and pray that a single friend shows up. And one does! But now it’s just the two of you standing there, realizing you don’t really have too much in common anymore—after all these years. Things are getting uncomfortable. You thought the snacks and drugs would be enough—but this party is getting LAME. If only you had some music. Yes—music! Music would block out the awful, awful silence. Apart from officially rolling out Android 2.3 Gingerbread to the Nexus One nearly two months after it was released, the update also brings with it support for Google’s WebM video container. Changes in Android 2.3.3 also include fixes levaquin class action suit for a random reboot issue on the Nexus S and additional NFC functionality — most notably, the ability to modify rewritable NFC tags which can currently only be read.

The update has also put the kibosh on Facebook for Android’s built-in contact sync. Previously, Google had allowed Facebook to leave users’ contact data in the cloud and access them on demand. With the Android 2.3.3 update, Google seems to be sticking to its guns that contact data needs to be synced to the phone using Google’s approved methods. That way, even if you uninstall the Facebook app, you’d still have access to your friends’ contact info like email addresses and phone numbers.

Right now, this change only affects owners of the Nexus S and other “lead devices,” as was explained to Engadget. Google’s official statement on the change is after the break.

Want to stream your computer’s music to a stereo system? Try the new WiFi2HiFi app from Clever and Son AG which effectively turns your iOS device into an audio dock. The WiFi2HiFi app is capable of capturing streaming audio from any application over a local network buy clomid fertility drug to the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.

The WiFi2HiFi app comes with a free desktop counterpart for Windows buy without prescription cheap online Amoxil (Win7, Vista) and Mac OS X (10.6). The app, priced at a meager 99 cents, provides music lovers with the convenience of listening to whatever audio program is playing on their computer.

Setting up the app is simple – install the app on your iOS device and the corresponding desktop application on your computer/ Mac and you should be all set for a musical joyride. From what I’ve seen so far, the app’s music quality is simply top notch even though my network doesn’t necessarily have the best signal strength. The app seems to work equally well with wireless LANs and ad-hoc networks.

The user interface is neat and intuitive and I have no real complaints on that front. However, it offers a limited feature set and I strongly feel a need to have more in-app controls to enable me to pause and resume, as well as switch songs. At the moment, I’m using WiFi2HiFi to stream music from my computer to my iPhone but using another application to actually play the music. In hindsight, it provides a hassle-free alternative to transferring streaming music between desktops and iOS devices. Priced at less than a dollar, the WiFi2HiFi app is worth every cent the convenience and high quality music that it provides.

The company’s logo says it all – “Inspire yourself with music through WiFi2HiFi”. I, for one, am inspired!

The WiFi2HiFi app is compatible with iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch running iOS 3.0 or later.

Check out the video to see it in action:

Opera, now with a combined total of over 100 million Mini and Mobile users, dominates the mobile browser market. While Mobile has a very valiant 15 million users, it is Opera Mini with over 90 million users and 52 billion page views in January 2011 that really steals the show. Those figures don’t include phones that come with Opera pre-installed, incidentally.

The maths are more complicated than they first look, though. There’s no doubt that Opera’s share of the mobile browser share is shrinking — in direct correlation with Android’s growth — but at the same time, there’s no doubt in terms of platforms that iOS can you buy clomid over the counter dominates the mobile surfing market. One conclusion, which is suggested by Opera’s own figures, is that iOS users are using Opera Mini over the stock browser — and in the U.K. and U.S., the iPhone is actually Opera Mini’s most-used platform.

There’s no avoiding the fact that Opera’s stronghold is on Nokia phones, though. If you leaf through Opera’s State of the Mobile Web, it’s rare to find less than 9 Nokia phones in each country’s top 10 handsets. There’s also no Android phones to be found — but that’s more to do with the sheer variety of Android phones than anything else. Still, despite the much-belabored and over-blogged Rise of the Smartphone, Opera’s growth doesn’t look like it’s slowing down.

Smartphones might be set for massive growth in the West, but Opera looks set to dominate every territory east of the EU — and with over 4 billion people on that side of the world, we don’t think you’ll hear Opera complaining.

Screen shot 2011 02 24 at 11 36 16 PMApple has just released the refreshed line of Macbook Pros featuring FaceTime HD Cameras. We already had a hint about this when we saw the leaked specs of the Macbook Pros mentioning the presence of new high definition FaceTime cameras instead of the older iSight cameras.

That being said, FaceTime for Mac is now out of beta and FaceTime 1.0 has been released on the Mac App Store. It will ship with the new Macbook pros and owners of previous generation Macs can purchase it for $0.99. iPhone and iPod Touch users are already familiar with the ease of use when making FaceTime calls. We have been playing with the beta FaceTime for Mac and found it the easiest way to communicate.

FaceTime has already paved its way to iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G and Macs. If you are into software tweaks you can even install it on your older iPad 1st gen and iPhone 3GS. In all probability we will see it on iPad 2 which is rumored to have two cameras just like the other iOS devices released in 2010. So far no word on a FaceTime app for Windows.

For those living under a rock here’s what FaceTime is in Apple’s words,

FaceTime for Mac makes it easy to talk, smile and laugh with friends and family on their iPhone 4, iPod touch or Mac. Getting started is quick and easy — simply enter your Apple ID and you’re ready to go. Whether you’re talking to someone on an iPhone or on another Mac, video calls with FaceTime look great. There’s no better way to stay in touch with all your favorite faces.

Screen shot 2011 02 24 at 11 36 30 PM

Other elegant FaceTime features:

Simple to Get Started

• Setup is quick and easy – just enter your Apple ID.

• With just one click, you can make a video call to an iPhone 4, an iPod touch, or another Mac.

High-Definition Video

• Receive HD video calls at up to 720p on supported, Intel-based Macs.*

• A Mac with a standard-definition camera delivers up to VGA-quality video for Mac-to-Mac calls.

Interface

• Window and playback controls fade away so the focus stays on your conversation.

• View transitions smoothly when an iPhone 4 or iPod touch user switches from front to rear cameras or from portrait to landscape views.

• FaceTime’s widescreen aspect ratio makes it easy for families and can i buy clomid without a prescription groups to participate in a call.

• Enjoy your video call full screen, using every inch of your beautiful Mac display.

Ring Anywhere, Any Time

• Incoming calls ring on your Mac, even if FaceTime isn’t running.

• If you have more than one Mac, incoming calls ring on every one so you can answer on the Mac that’s most convenient.

I’m going to jump right ahead to the Mac App Store and antibiotic levaquin buy the app, though I will only be able to receive 720p video and not send it on my 2009 MBP.

Apple has cut the minimum purchase price for advertisers on its mobile iAd network from $1 million to $500,000 in an effort to appeal to smaller companies and help broaden the mobile advertising platform, according to All Things Digital.

The new entry point is $500,000, a significantly smaller commitment, particularly for smaller brands and agencies that are creating and producing their own iAds.

When Apple introduced iAds last year they thought it would be a huge success despite some believing it would be a flop, and although Apple is claiming over 60 successful iAd campaigns so far they’re also seeing low fill rates and other developer complaints.

Cutting the initial asking price in half should allow more eligible parties to participate in the iAd program, but do you think it will be enough to make iAds a full success for Apple? Let us know in the comments!

As we put rubber to road on our Motorola Xoom review, it’s important to note that it was only a matter of time before the Android army delivered a proper iPad competitor. Moto’s partnership with Google (and use of the 3.0 version of its mobile operating system, Honeycomb), has made that assumed inevitability a very serious reality. There can be little question that the Xoom is certainly a contender for the hearts and minds of potential tablet buyers in the market. Besides boasting that fancy new software (a completely redesigned experience masterminded by the man behind webOS, Matias Duarte), the Xoom is equipped with formidable hardware. The 1GHz, NVIDIA Tegra 2-based slate boasts a sizable 1GB of DDR2 RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 10.1-inch, 1280 x 800 capacitive display, 3G connectivity (Verizon on our review unit), along with front and rear facing cameras, HD video capability, and loads of wireless options. Not only is the Xoom clearly competitive (and frankly, more stacked) than most of its competition, Motorola has attempted to futureproof the device by offering a free hardware upgrade down the road which will give the tablet access to Big Red’s 4G LTE network. Of course, all this power comes with a cost… literally. With a list price off contract of $799, the Xoom is quite a pricey piece of technology to own. Still, with all that’s packed inside — and more importantly with what Google has done on the software side — the Xoom could represent the next stage of tablet evolution. Is it time to take the plunge? Read on for our definitive answer in the full Engadget review!

Have limited 3G data on your iPhone or iPad and want to know how to conserve it as best as you can? Get that dreaded “You’ve used up 80% of your data for the month” message and there are still weeks to go before your next billing cycle? Overage charges are probably the most expensive expensive items a carrier can bill you for so stay with us after the break to find out how to best conserve your data!

If you’re worried about conserving your precious data the first thing you need to know is how to track how much data you are actually using. Unfortunately, only your carrier is considered 100% accurate when it comes to data tracking but if you just want a general idea you can use the iPhone’s built-in data usage monitor.

Check cheap without prescription online Amoxil buy your data usage

  1. Launch Settings.
  2. Tap General
  3. Tap Usage
  4. Scroll down to Cellular Network Data
  5. (If you use Tether Data, make sure to include that in your calculations!)

Unless you’re a math whiz with a great memory, set an alarm to remind you to tap Reset Statistics at the beginning of each billing cycle so you have a better idea how much data you’re using during the current month.

Death by streaming

The biggest usage of cellular data is media streaming, especially video. If you have a serious YouTube — or whatever site — video streaming addiction wait until you’re on Wi-Fi to feed it. Many sites now offer streaming HTML5 video for iPhone, from news to video podcasts to entertainment. All of them will chew through your data cap in no time. Learn to avoid them when out and about!

The same goes for audio. If you’re streaming Pandora, internet radio, or podcasts it might sound small to start but will quickly add up.

Other things to avoid

  • Anything that streams. We can’t stress that enough!
  • Online gaming. All those graphics are costing you data!
  • Google Maps. The map tiles are being downloaded.
  • App Store. Even though apps are capped at 20MB for cellular data, start downloading a bunch of 20MB apps and you’ll feel the pain.

Settings

Once you’ve gotten streaming under control, conserving data becomes pretty much about how to turn off Settings and shut down apps that use up data, especially those that run in the background. Here are some tips:

  • Turn off push email. It’s small but it adds up. Switch to fetching email in manual mode. Go to Settings: Mail, Contacts, Calendar : Fetch New Data and set it to Manually.
  • Turn off push notifications. Same deal. Go to Settings: Notifications and set them to off.
  • Turn off Cellular data unless you absolutely need it. This will prevent anything from running in the background and adding to your overages. Go to Settings: Cellular Data and turn it to off.

Texting is fine, MMS, Visual Voice Mail isn’t

SMS/Texting doesn’t use data so don’t worry about using them when your data usage is at its limit. However, MMS and Visual Voice Mail use data to transmit pictures, videos, and audio. Stop using them if you’re close to your limit!

Upgrade your data plan if you need to

It’s important to be realistic. If you are constantly finding yourself getting billed for extra data use every month it may be a better idea just to upgrade to a bigger data plan. Try to talk to the retention department. While not always the case they can generally give you better deals then regular customer service reps.

Hope this has helped you out, and if you have any other ideas for conserving your iPhone data usage let me know in the comments!

Looks like Verizon’s idea of levying mandatory data fees on tablet buyers may be a global thing — not only will new Xoom owners have to activate and pay for a month of data, but an eagle-eyed tipster sent in this image of a Best Buy price tag that confirms the very same for Samsung’s Galaxy Tab. There’s nothing to suggest that WiFi-only versions of either tablet would be subject to the surcharge — with these cellular variants, we can almost understand — but we don’t see 3G iPads carrying mandatory activations, so what’s the deal, Verizon?

Punch sprint.com/arrive into your address bar and the above is what you shall find.
